Der Bereich Gebäude und  Grundstücke nimmt vielfältige Aufgaben im Bereich städtischer Grundstücke und Gebäude (Frankenthaler Schulen, Sporthallen, Kindertagesstätten, Dienstgebäude der Stadtverwaltung, Stadtbücherei, Erkenbert-Museum, Städtische Musikschule, städtische Wohnheime) wahr.

Der Bereich ist zuständig für die Bewilligung von Fördermitteln für den Bau und die Modernisierung von Wohngebäuden im Bereich der Wohnraumförderung des Landes sowie für die Erhebung der Ausgleichszahlungen für öffentlich geförderten Wohnungsbau (Fehlbelegungsabgabe) und für die Erstellung des Mietspiegels als freiwillige Dienstleistung der Stadt Frankenthal (Pfalz).
