Der Bereich Schulen befasst sich mit allen schulischen Angelegenheiten innerhalb der Stadtverwaltung Frankenthal. 
Dabei gilt es für 19 städtische Schulen die Aufgaben eines Schulträgers wahrzunehmen. Vor allem die Schaffung von Rahmenbedingungen wie Gebäude, Ausstattung, Unterhaltung der Schulen, Schülertransporte, Mittagsverpflegung und Unterhaltung des Schullandheimes in Hertlingshausen im Pfälzer Wald.
