The picture shows the automated parking guidance system.Frankenthal offers a good and sufficient range of parking spaces close to the inner city, so that shopping and strolling through the town is a pleasant experience. Multi-storey und underground car parks as well as big car parks can easily be reached on foot.

The centrally situated underground car park Willy-Brandt-Anlage (P 1) has a direct connection to the town hall. The underground car park, run by the town's department of works, is always well frequented. It offers 292 parking spaces and 52 parking spaces for women; it is open Mondays to Fridays from 7 am to 8.30 pm.


The smaller multi-storey car park Karolinenstraße (P 2) is situated next to the Central hotel. It has a direct access to the Birkenmeier department store. 84 parking spaces are here at your disposal all around the clock; 30 minutes are free.

The pedestrian precinct Speyerer Straße can be reached directly through the shopping centre from the multi-storey car park City-Center (P 3), run by APCOA, in the Welschgasse, which is located in the immediate vicinity of the city library. It offers 360 parking spaces and is open Mondays to Fridays from 7 am to 8 pm and Saturdays from 8 am to 6.30 pm.

The picture shows the car park routing system.The big multi-storey car park SWIFT (P 4) at the railway station, run by the town's department of works, is also located near the centre. It has 380 parking spaces, is open 24 hours a day and offers Park & Rail.

At the Parseval and Röntgenplatz (P 5) in the immediate vicinity of the two grammar schools of Frankenthal you may park free of charge all around the clock.

The car parks Am Hallenbad at the indoor swimming pool (105 parking spaces) and the southern part of the Jahnplatz (P 6) (180 parking spaces) opposite the CongressForum are free, too. The northern part of the Jahnplatz is run by the CongressForum. Here, the parking fee is 1.00 € per hour.

The CongressForum (P 7) offers further parking spaces in its underground car park and on open parking levels (liable to costs).

In the aforementioned multi-storey car parks one hour costs 1.00 € on average. Parking spaces for seriously disabled persons exist.

The offer is replenished with about 475 parking spaces in the city centre which are run by car park ticket machines to the following conditions:

As a special parking bonus in Frankenthal the first 6 minutes of parking are free (“six in the city”). All car park ticket machines offer the possibility to buy “six minutes parking time” in 10-cent-steps. Thus the client can decide very individually how long he wishes to park within the allowed maximum parking duration.

In addition, in the residents’ parking areas 206 short-time parking spaces and a further 164 parking spaces are available free of charge from 8 am to 6 pm.
